. . . for clarity if one wants to get the complete and accurate picture of a political or war situation, in particular, speaking of the present conflict between Israel and the Palestinians and the charge of genocide against Israel that is now before the UN Court. The word Genocide is a very strong word which is the reason I decided to address this issue. In a recent essay I wrote about two weeks ago following the Palestinian missile attack, I made an observation that Israel's response was silent; in fact, I used the expression "it just sat there." My remark was based on the fact that Israel, having an historic reputation for being militarily superior in the Middle East region; moreover, with nuclear capabilities also buttressed by their policy of Eminent Attack, a preconceived idea that an enemy appears to be preparing to attack; therefore, Israel attacks first, the silence seemed odd given Israel's reputation for self-defense against passivity "Never Again" is their motto. This explains why the Israeli people chastised Netanyahu given that Palestine was able to strike first. In this present situation, Israel seemed to deviate from this historical norm, which according to other sources, it was already apparent that the Palestinians were building up giving cause for suspicion. Another deviation was that the US joined Israel with military and financial support, while Israel carried out a military counter attack by land against the Palestinians which is the basis for the charge of genocide in media including Time that stated 29,000 Palestinians have been killed since October 2023. In the same vein, during the Desert Storm conflict, President Bush with other supporters, influenced Arafat to move on as the Head of State of Palestine giving up his leadership in the PLO. He agreed, and his PLO broke up with many of his terrorist army joining other terrorist groups in the area; most likely including Hamas and apparently Hezbollah, as well, which is the most militarized terrorist group in the Middle East; including jet fighters, Given these anomalies, my initial response in this matter concerning the charge against Israel of genocide is that the charge is grossly inappropriate; nonetheless, the reaction mirrors what happened a few decades ago when Israel counter attacked a terrorist group who had been taking asylum in Syria, with their families, during which they were doing hit and runs into Israel. Given the death toll, the media did not take a position then of genocide but they did report an international outcry of an overkill given that men, women and children were killed.
In the US, for instance, families may not go with the US military into harms way, but in the Middle East Terrorist will take their families wherever they go. I'm going to provide an explanation because we, from the West and in Europe, see things differently from the ways of other parts of the world and if this is not understood, the presumption of an action taken can be misinterpreted. First of all, their is a tradition in the Middle East region to bring ones family wherever one goes; even speaking of going to jail or to a Terrorist encampment. They usually don't separate from their families regardless of the circumstances. This becomes particularly salient when addressing the characteristic that terrorist groups will often bring their families with them into their encampments even under the threat of a counter attack. This is what happened in the Syrian situation and, I suggest, also in that of the Palestinian situation. Palestine was packed to the gills with men, women and children at the time of the Palestinian missile attack. Israel's response was typical, understandably; after all, how does does one defend ones self in the instance of an open attack when the terrorists are sitting with their families; the answer is an indiscriminate military attack; there is no other choice if passivity is to be avoided holding the potential for something worse.
Secondly, the definition would include that it is not a case of War, but of the State when removing a given sector of their citizenship, especially if nationalism is part of the State identity, also preceded by an official order to vacate canceling citizenship. This occurred in both the Turkey genocide, first of the modern era, and then in the German Jewish Holocaust. Additionally, the genocide is carried out in an orderly fashion; for instance, transferring assets, also selection for removal is carried out by either the military or local police then gathered and transported to an area away or out of the state all together to a location far from any settlements where they are either starved to death or euphanized thru a given method, for instance, by gassing, shooting or some other form of industrialized euphemism. This is not done within state for all to see and it is not an act of War; as difficult as it is to believe; genocides belong to the realm of State.
For instance, when Hitler invaded Russia it was his intent to establish Lebensraum "more room" for the German people. However, during Germany's Operation Barbarossa, initiating a German invasion into Russian territory, Jews were encountered in this area in which Germany had advanced. It was also true that the local people, just as Poland was guilty of allowing pogroms against the Jews, were already carrying out pogroms in that area of Russia themselves, near the Polish border. Additionally, the Babi Yar massacre, in which more than 30,000 Jews were killed occurring during the Russian invasion was in line with Germanys track through Russia; nonetheless, with the intent of territorial ambition. The intent, however, colored the assault as a War event, not genecide; in fact, Hitler did not attempt to send any Russian Jews to the Death Camps in Poland; most likely because in Europe Hitler used the Law, also the Colonial Law in Poland, to exterminate the European Jews. Indeed, in that post fuedal/monarchical era, a nation could murder its own population which was not changed until the Nuremburg Trials occurred with the outcome that International Law was subsequently created to bar genocide. Another reason to explain the reaction Israel took following the Palestinian missile attack, is the fact that Israel lives in a Sea of Arabs that has been completely Islamized, speaking of the whole of the Middle East Region and into Eurasia
In closing, I will state that the language, when speaking of a genocide as opposed to a massacre of a people during War is different. Bobi Yar is classified as a massacre, not a genocide; but the death camps in Poland, occurring in the same period as well as in close proximity to each other, were identified as a genecide. Moreover, I will mention, that the Catholic Church, which had been the only Christian church in Europe up until the Protestant Reformation, advanced an animosity toward Jews for centuries right up to the Holocaust after which the Catholic Church made an International public apology. Finally, given the Islamic intent to remove Israel from the region that began immediately following the creation of the State of Israel, authorized by the UN, Israel's choice of defense is eminently important to make it clear that they are not leaving even though the Middle East has been Islamized following the establishment of the Islamic State everywhere across the continent. Thus, Israel's response to the Paleestian missile attack is not a genocide; it is an act of War. For the media, even speaking for a government, to use the verbiage of genocide is a voice of intentional and bombastic language intended to foster a major War and it is they who should be chastised for such an offense that will detrimentally affect the entire global population. Somebody is trying to start a WW III and they dont need to think that a reasonable people don't recognize that. Israel has historically shown an ability to contain an attack because they know they live in a Sea of Arabs; the get hit, they retaliate with a heavy fist, and then its over is the pattern they are known for and, by the way, Iran has appropriated nuclear abilities as well, but I will tell you that ability is not reserved for Israel: Quack, Quack, Waddle ,Waddle.
1. The intent of the Nuremberg Trails was two fold: to address War Crimes and to nullify the States legal basis to claim the right to mass murder its own people outside the auspice of criminal law. What is happening today in international law is extrapolations of the nullification prohibiting a States right to genecide by politicizing the prohibition redirecting its original focus from State controlled mass murder of its own people to strictly group identity; an extrapolation that is absurd in scope and without the specificity of authority.that would enable accountability.
2. Since the word "genocide" has been criminalized following the Nuremberg Trials, the word "democide" is utilized to describe "Death by Government" of its own unarmed people, as an all inclusive term, for any reason that stands outside institutionalized criminal law.. See R. J. Rummel "Death by Government."
